In about five minutes you install Cua Spaces, connect your AI coding agent, make this computer your first Space and ask your agent to use it while you watch.

Cua Spaces quickstart

Install Cua Spaces, connect your agent and watch it work in a Space (39 seconds, no sound).

Before you start#

  • A Mac (macOS 26 or later), a Windows PC (preview) or a Linux PC (Ubuntu 24.04).
  • An AI coding agent, such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor. See the supported agents.
  • A free Cua account. The app asks you to sign in during setup.

Your computer is your first Space, so there is nothing big to download. An extra Space is optional: a Linux Space needs a container engine such as Docker, and a macOS Space needs an Apple silicon Mac and about 50 GB of free disk.

1. Install Cua Spaces#

curl -fsSL https://cua.ai/install.sh | sh

The command installs the cua command and the app. You can also download the app from the download page. Install has the details for each system.

2. Connect your agent#

Open Cua Spaces. The first screen says "A shared Space for every agent."

Under Pick any, or none, tick the agents you use on this computer: Claude Code, Codex, Hermes, Cursor, OpenClaw or any other under More agents. The ones installed here are ticked already. Press Continue, and the app adds Cua to each ticked agent's settings. You can also tick none and connect agents later.

If your agent was already open, close it and open it again so it loads the new tools. To connect more agents later, see Connect your agent.

3. Make this computer your first Space#

The app checks your setup and shows what's left. These steps use the Mac wording; on Windows and Linux the app says "this PC" or "this computer". Press the button on each row:

  1. Sign in, then finish signing in to Cua in your browser. The app then adds this Mac to your account by itself.
  2. Let Cua control this Mac, so your agent can click and type.
  3. Let Cua see this screen, so your agent can see what's on it.

Each of the last two opens System Settings. Turn Cua on there; macOS asks you only once. When every row is done, the app says "Your agent can use this Mac." This Mac is now your first Space.

4. Try your first request#

Under Try this in Claude Code, press Copy and paste the request into your agent:

List my computers and tell me what's on this Mac

It works right away, on this Mac. Open Cua Spaces to watch your agent work, and use the desktop yourself whenever you want to take over.

5. Add a Linux Space (optional)#

Give your agent its own Space offers a fresh computer inside this Mac, away from your files and your mouse. Choose Linux for the quickest one (a Mac can also make a macOS Space), or choose No extra Space for now. The card shows how long it takes and how much it downloads.

Press Done whenever you like. The new Space keeps getting made after the window closes, shows its progress in the sidebar, and you get a notice when it's ready.

If a step is still open, the button says Finish later. Home then keeps a Finish setting up list with the same steps. A Space that fails to create shows the reason and a Try again button. See Troubleshoot.
