Critics Consensus

Harmlessly hokey yet never much more than mediocre, Hocus Pocus is a muddled family-friendly effort that fails to live up to the talents of its impressive cast.

It is an enjoyable watch and a decent bit of entertainment, although maybe it functions better as a small-screen discovery for its devoted fanbase.

Yes, it's the old teens-warn-the-townfolk-but-no-one-believes-them trick. This time, it's not quite a treat.

Hocus Pocus walks a fine line, where we get to enjoy witchy glee but also feel real emotions about their victims.

Nostalgia adds to this but I enjoyed it. Used to watch it over and over because my siblings loved it when we were kids. Was great to see it in a theater for the first time. Definitely brought back memories
