Though this movie appears to be a low budget film considering there's not a lot of special effects, multiple scenes are shot in the same location(s), what makes this movie unforgettable is the raw acting ability of the cast, and the moral dilemma the movie poses to the audience. It's a fantastic story with a fantastic cast, and I feel this move should get way more hype. A film in which a team of South Korean detectives investigate one of the most chilling murder/rape case ever put to screen. The detective team is played by a wonderful ensemble lead by Song Kang-ho (fresh off his phenomenal performances in Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance and Joint Security Area, two early Park Chan-wook films) and Kim Sang-kyung. The films final sequence really nails in the fact that a killer could be any ordinary person. What this movie did is introduce a thrilling and excruciating mystery and leave it with a direct stare at the camera that sends shivers down your spine. Memories of Murder is one of the best films of all time, if not the best film of all time.
