Boruto: Naruto Next Generations

Following the successful end of the Fourth Shinobi World War, Konohagakure has been enjoying a period of peace, prosperity, and extraordinary technological advancement. This is all due to the efforts of the Allied Shinobi Forces and the village's Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. Now resembling a modern metropolis, Konohagakure has changed, particularly the life of a shinobi. Under the watchful eye of Naruto and his old comrades, a new generation of shinobi has stepped up to learn the ways of the ninja.

Boruto Uzumaki is often the center of attention as the son of the Seventh Hokage. Despite having inherited Naruto's boisterous and stubborn demeanor, Boruto is considered a prodigy and is able to unleash his potential with the help of supportive friends and family. Unfortunately, this has only worsened his arrogance and his desire to surpass Naruto which, along with his father's busy lifestyle, has strained their relationship. However, a sinister force brewing within the village may threaten Boruto's carefree life.

New friends and familiar faces join Boruto as a new story begins.

In this review, I'll talk about Boruto's visit to the Mist Village.


The plan to assassinate Boruto during the visit to the Mist Village had a profound impact on me; it was an attack on the very peace that united the ninja nations.
Killing the Hokage's son within the Mist Village would have reignited the hatred between the Mist and the Leaf Village, destroying years of alliance and trust between villages that were once enemies.
It was an attempt to bring hatred into an era of peace.


But what makes this arc so interesting is how Boruto reacts.
Even though he's the target of a conspiracy, he remains calm and ... acts with surprising maturity.
Boruto resolves the situation intelligently, preventing the information from leaking and preventing the incident from becoming a reason for war between the Leaf Village and the Mist Village.


This attitude shows how deeply Boruto understands the weight of the world he lives in.
He understands that his actions, as the Hokage's son, have consequences far greater than a simple fight. By preserving the peace and stability between the villages, Boruto proves that true strength lies not in destroying enemies, but in protecting peace, even when it depends on difficult decisions.


Boruto portrays a new ninja world that has achieved peace.
Many call this era weak, but in truth, it is the greatest symbol of strength the shinobi nations have ever achieved.
The peace that Naruto and his generation achieved did not erase the ninja spirit; the new generation will maintain this peace.
Now, the real challenge is to maintain the alliance of peace between the villages and protect the legacy of those who fought to ensure that hatred and war ceased to be the center of everything.


Boruto grows up in this new world understanding that the age of hatred must not be repeated.


The Mist Village arc in Boruto is very good, and I really enjoyed it; it shows how the ninja world has matured and evolved.
While some young people try to revive the bloody mist of old, Boruto clearly sees what they don't understand: that dark era is over. The current Mist Village is no longer a symbol of fear, but of resilience, a village that rose from the ashes to become part of the shinobi alliance and an emblem of peace.


An era of peace does not weaken young people; it reveals their true strength.
Peace is the greatest symbol of unity and courage, the result of generations who chose to break the cycle of hatred and war.


And when young people understand this, they become even more powerful, ready to protect what the ninja world took centuries to achieve.

💫 In the Shadow of a Legend: Boruto and the Lost Soul

Spoiler Warning: Contains light spoilers for Naruto, Shippuden, and Boruto Part 1.

Naruto was never just an anime — it was a journey we all shared.
We grew up with him, cried with him, and refused to give up with him.
Every character — Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, Jiraiya — carried a piece of our own hearts.
Every power gained came with sacrifice, loss, and growth.
Jiraiya’s wisdom, Itachi’s tragedy, Madara and Obito’s pain — they shaped not only the story, but us as viewers.

... Then came Boruto.
A sequel born from a legend, but without the same soul.

The world became more technological, the characters more shallow, and power was earned not through effort, but convenience.
No one truly suffers anymore.
No one pays the price that once gave meaning to victory.
We no longer feel connected — we only watch to see what happened to the ones we once loved.

Most of us don’t watch Boruto for Boruto himself.
We watch it for Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi, Hinata, and the lingering spirit of Jiraiya.
But instead of honoring them, the story turned them into background figures — shadows of their former selves.
Naruto, the boy who once changed the world, is now sidelined.
Sasuke, reduced to a mentor.
Our heroes — the ones we grew up with — are treated like relics.

Masashi Kishimoto might have wanted to tell the story of a “new generation,”
but in doing so, he disconnected it from the emotional foundation that made Naruto timeless.
Boruto isn’t a true continuation — it’s a story living in denial of its legacy.

Boruto himself feels powerful, yet hollow.
Smart, yet soulless.
The writing lacks the pain, growth, and humanity that made the original so meaningful.

And yet… there’s still hope.
If Boruto is ever to rise again, it must do so by embracing what made Naruto great —
the bond between characters, the sacrifices, the emotion, the soul.

Otherwise, it will remain a hollow sequel, remembered only as a shadow of an era that once defined us.

Because deep down, we all still carry that child inside —
and that child still believes in Naruto’s words:
“Dattebayo!” 🍃

Yea, i love the Boruto manga, but the anime is a slop.

Horrible pacing, inconsistent animation, and atrocious filler arcs. Read the manga if you genuinely want to enjoy the peak that Boruto has to offer, but you will not find that from the manga.

A lot of people had high hopes for the Boruto anime, but unfortunately it fell victim to Studio Pierrot and their money grab of weekly episodes. Genuinely would have been far better had it been a seasonal anime and not just a load of filler crap.

Pros:
- Has enjoyable characters with some development from them, especially Boruto
- Is more upbeat, ... so if you've read the manga, it could be enjoyable to watch the filler. Also if you're really young or have kids, they might like the continuation of Naruto
- Naruto is in it... so if you're nostalgic... go for it ig.

Mixed:
- Some find Boruto relatable, some find him annoying. If you break down his character, he has amazing development (especially in the manga). But, I think whether or not you'd really enjoy his character comes down to how you view him at first.

Cons:
- Genuinely the worst pacing filled with bad anime arcs
- Animation truly is rushed and inconsistent. There are maybe 5 episodes with good animation, everything else is weekly rushed animation style
- A lot of characters from Naruto just look sloppy or aren't written well. Once again, animation on them, especially Naruto, looks nasty. Just search up goblin Naruto and you'll understand.


TLDR:
Boruto, the main character, has great development, but the animation and pacing of the anime is atrocious. Filler arcs ruin the anime. If you're going to watch it, skip the filler and only watch manga canon episodes. If you want to actually enjoy Boruto and what the next generation of Naruto has to offer, read the manga, it's far better than the anime and is actually done really well.
